This page explains Anita\u2019s working protocol and its limits, but it is not a substitute for medical assessment of a possible infection, allergic reaction or other health complication.<\/p>\n<h2>First rule: follow the instructions for your piercing<\/h2>\n<p>Do not change the care routine because of random online advice and do not introduce another product without checking first. If Anita has specified Octenisept, Hexoral, a different cleaning frequency or a special procedure for your piercing, follow that individual instruction.<\/p>\n<p>Do not routinely rotate or move the jewellery. If Anita demonstrates a specific procedure for a particular piercing, do only what she showed and only when needed. Touch the piercing only with clean hands.<\/p>\n<h2>Basic care and daily behaviour<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Avoid pools, rivers, lakes and other unclean or prolonged water exposure during the sensitive stage of healing.<\/li>\n<li>Do not sleep directly on a fresh piercing and avoid pressure, friction, tight clothing and snagging the jewellery.<\/li>\n<li>Do not apply perfume, fragranced soap, creams or other products directly around the piercing unless they are part of the agreed routine.<\/li>\n<li>Do not remove or change the jewellery on your own until Anita confirms that it is appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Contact Anita if the jewellery presses, embeds, repeatedly catches or appears to be changing position.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Approximate healing time<\/h2>\n<p>The times below are approximate ranges from practice, not a promise that every piercing is fully healed on the final day of a range. The outside may look settled before the channel is fully stable.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ear cartilage: approximately 3\u20136 months<\/li>\n<li>Earlobe: approximately 2\u20134 months<\/li>\n<li>Tragus: approximately 2\u20133 months<\/li>\n<li>Nostril: approximately 2\u20134 months<\/li>\n<li>Septum: approximately 2\u20133 months<\/li>\n<li>Lip: approximately 2\u20134 months<\/li>\n<li>Tongue: approximately 6\u20138 weeks<\/li>\n<li>Eyebrow: approximately 2\u20134 months<\/li>\n<li>Nipple: approximately 4\u20136 months<\/li>\n<li>Navel: approximately 6\u201312 months<\/li>\n<li>Microdermal: approximately 2\u20134 months<\/li>\n<li>Surface: approximately 2\u20134 months<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Placement, anatomy, jewellery, pressure, snagging, care and individual response can shorten or extend the actual process. Jewellery should not be changed simply because a calendar range has passed.<\/p>\n<h2>Expected changes, irritation and possible infection<\/h2>\n<p>Early changes can include tenderness, limited swelling, mild redness and a small amount of pale or whitish lymph fluid that may dry into a crust around the jewellery. The expected direction is gradual improvement.<\/p>\n<p>Irritation may be caused by excessive or rough cleaning, pressure, sleeping on the piercing, snagging, tight clothing or a product that irritates the skin. This is not the same as diagnosing an allergy or infection.<\/p>\n<p>Possible signs of infection include increasing pain, heat, spreading redness or swelling, an unpleasant smell, thick green or yellow discharge, fever, chills or feeling generally unwell. If infection is suspected, do not decide to remove the jewellery yourself and seek medical assessment.<\/p>\n<h2>Jewellery, migration and bumps<\/h2>\n<p>Do not remove or change the jewellery on your own when there is a problem. Anita can assess the size, placement, pressure, migration and thinning of tissue and explain which jewellery is appropriate for the specific piercing.<\/p>\n<p>In Anita\u2019s practice, titanium, surgical steel or bioplast may be used according to the piercing and its stage. Do not buy or insert replacement jewellery based only on the material name; dimensions, shape, finish and suitability also matter.<\/p>\n<p>A bump beside a piercing is not automatically a keloid. It may be related to pressure, snagging, moisture, irritation or scar tissue. Contact Anita promptly if the jewellery moves closer to the surface, becomes visible through the skin or the tissue becomes thinner. Diagnosis of a keloid or another skin condition requires medical assessment.<\/p>\n<h2>Nose, bridge and septum<\/h2>\n<p>For nose, bridge and septum piercings, Anita\u2019s protocol commonly uses regular care for approximately two months, adjusted to the actual progress. If Octenisept has been specified for you, use it at the frequency and in the way Anita demonstrated, commonly twice daily on the outside, without routinely rotating the jewellery.<\/p>\n<p>Gently remove excess product and softened build-up with the clean disposable material recommended to you. Do not force internal cleaning or push the jewellery through the channel.<\/p>\n<h2>Eyebrow, ear, nipple, stretching, surface, microdermal and navel<\/h2>\n<p>For eyebrow, ear, nipple and stretching, Anita\u2019s practical starting routine often includes Octenisept twice daily together with particular care not to sleep on the piercing, snag it or touch it with unwashed hands. Sternum, surface and microdermal piercings follow the same basic limits with increased protection from pressure and pulling.<\/p>\n<p>A navel piercing may require 6\u201312 months to stabilise. If Anita has specified Octenisept twice daily, apply it without roughly moving the jewellery and gently remove only softened build-up. Avoid sleeping on your stomach, tight clothing and materials that create friction.<\/p>\n<p>For nipple piercings, questions about pregnancy, breastfeeding or breast changes should not be answered only from online instructions. Anita can explain the piercing and jewellery, while a clinician provides individual medical assessment.<\/p>\n<h2>Lip, labret, medusa and other oral piercings<\/h2>\n<p>For lip, labret, vertical labret and medusa piercings, Anita\u2019s protocol may include regular oral hygiene, Hexoral diluted with water once daily and Octenisept externally twice daily for the period specified for that piercing. Do not increase the frequency on your own.<\/p>\n<p>For tongue, tongue web and smiley piercings, use a new toothbrush, rinse with water after food, drinks or smoking and follow the agreed Hexoral routine. During the first days, choose cooler, softer food and avoid food that causes additional burning or irritation, especially very hot, spicy or heavily salted food. Do not wait for a reply from the studio in an emergency.
